- Click on Authoring from the side navigation or from the main dashboard.
- Select your University from the drop down list, this is populated from your approved affiliations.
- Now you will be able to select a template to Download.
- Once you have a Manuscript formatted to the template you can then continue by clicking Next
- Under Manuscript you will be able to upload a Word document of your manuscript.
- Note: PDF's are not recommended due to limitations in final publication formatting and indexing
- Once the file has been uploaded the title, abstract and keywords will be extracted from the manuscript which can be edited accordingly. You will also see the manuscript summary which provides an overview of your manuscript throughout the authoring process. Information shown on the Manuscript Summary includes University, Title, Abstract and Keywords.
- Make sure to select a Content Type for your manuscript, this helps to make your work indexed and discovered
- You will then need to declare if you have a Conflict of Interest before proceeding. If clicking Yes, a text box will appear for you to fill in the reason.
- Click Next to proceed to Authors
- You will automatically have been as added as Author. If there are additional authors to be added you can do that here. You will need to add their Name and email as well as their affiliations. For the affiliations you will need to select the Authors university and Department from a dropdown list. Please note that as the person creating the manuscript you must be the corresponding author. To do this click the checkmark next to corresponding in the list of authors.
- After clicking next you will proceed to Funders. Here you will search for your funder and select from the drop down menu. Then click Add.
Note: The list of funders is based on the ROR index, if you cannot find your funder listed please get in touch with us at support@scifree.se - After adding a Funder, you will proceed to Review & Submitting. On the left hand side there is a PDF viewer where you will be able to check through the manuscript document. On the right hand side, there you will see Review your manuscript, here you will see all the information filled in such as University, Authors, Title and Abstract. If everything is correct click Submit. If you need to change anything click on the tabs to return to the section you wish to change.
- After submitting you are ready to Add Reviewers. You will enter the name and email then click Add Reviewer.
- Once you have added the number of reviewers required by your university. Click Submit for review. The reviewers will then receive an email inviting them to review.
